MS Quitline Online Provider Training is now available on HealthStream to all MSDH employees.
This training includes two modules: "How to Address Nicotine Dependence in MS Health Care Settings" and “How to Refer Your Patients to the MS Quitline”. You can find these courses in the Catalog section of HealthStream.
Course Description
This online course educates county health department clinicians on tobacco cessation intervention and referral to the Mississippi Tobacco Quitline.
Course Objectives
- Describe the benefits of cessation for patients.
- Describe the steps of the Brief Tobacco Intervention (5As and 2As models)
- Describe the process for screening each patient for readiness to quit.
- Refer patients who are ready to quit to the Mississippi Tobacco Quitline.
