Position Opening: BUREAU DIRECTOR II (FIRST STEPS/EARLY INTERVENTION DIRECTOR) — The Mississippi State Department of Health
Duties: This is administrative work in which the incumbent serves as Director of the First Steps Early Intervention Program and the
state's newborn hearing screening and follow-up program. Work involves interpretation of federal regulations, writing of policies and procedures
following regulations/legislation, resource planning and management, federal grant and report writing, as well as serving as liaison between other
agencies and key stakeholders serving infants, toddlers and families.
Minimum Requirements: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university; AND Nine (9) years of experience, four (4) years of which must have included line or functional administrative or advanced technical supervision. Applicant should have a Bachelor's or higher level degree in early childhood education, special education, child development, psychology, early intervention, therapeutic services, or other equivalent area.
Starting Salary: $53,600.93/year
