Dengue is a viral disease transmitted to humans by the bite of an infected mosquito. Dengue infection is characterized by high fever, severe headache, severe pain behind the eyes, joint pain, muscle and bone pain, rash, and mild bleeding. Occasionally, infections can be severe, resulting in Dengue hemorrhagic fever that can be life-threatening.
