Team membership is open to residents of Mississippi who agree to make a commitment to volunteer their time, energy, and talents by serving their community. Members are mental health professionals, mental health practitioners, social workers, educational support personnel, community support service providers, emergency responders, public safety service providers, nurses, clergy, and retired individuals.
It is the policy of the Mississippi CISM program to provide equal-opportunity team membership to all based on merit and qualifications, without regard to race, creed, color, national origin, sex, age, or handicap. This includes all factors involved in the treatment of applicants, and volunteers.
Team responsibilities and duties include the following:
- Take an active role in debriefings.
- Request Mental Health assistance when their training and resources are exceeded.
- Assist in providing follow-up services.
- Remain informed of the program's operating policies and procedures.
- Assist the Team in Crisis Response related projects.
- Function only within the limits of their training.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding Mississippi CISM debriefings, including topics discussed and personnel involved.
- Attend in-service trainings.
