The Mississippi State Department of Health's Comprehensive Cancer Control Program and the Mississippi Partnership for Comprehensive Cancer Control (MP3C) Coalition held the MP3C 2007 Annual Cancer Control in Mississippi Award Dinner at the Jackson Hilton Hotel in May. The awardees were recognized for their distinguished service and advocacy in the fight against cancer in four categories:
- The Prevention of Cancer Award was presented to Freddie White-Johnson at the Deep South Network for Cancer Control (DSNCC)
- The Distinguished Service towards Cancer Early Detection and Screening Award was presented to The American Cancer Society, Mid-South Division, Inc.
- The Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Award was presented to Roy Duhe, Ph.D. at Mississippi University Medical Cancer.
- The Spirit of Life Award was presented to Marshall Ramsey of the Clarion-Ledger.
Congratulations to these outstanding professional who have made a great difference in the lives of many Mississippians.
