Background
Before coming to MSDH, Thompson served as the Budget Director and Deputy Support Services Director at the Mississippi Department of
Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, overseeing the day-to-day operations of accounting, payroll, purchasing and property. Willie began his state government
career in 1976 as a Senior Auditor in the State Auditor's Office. Since then he has served in various positions with expanding duties and
responsibilities at the Mississippi State Hospital, The Department of Economic and Community Development, and the Mississippi State Tax Commission.
