Background
Dr. Zhang was named Director of the Office of Health Data and Research at the MSDH in November 2007. In this position he is responsible
for directing and providing data and research support to Health Services with an emphasis on maternal and child health.
Prior to this appointment, he served as Bureau Director and Business Systems Analyst at the MSDH. He has also held adjunct
academic appointments at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, the University of Southern Mississippi, and the Jackson State University.
Dr. Zhang received a Bachelor's degree from the Chengdu University of Technology in China and an MBA from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
He received his Master of Science and PhD in Preventive Medicine from the University of Mississippi.
