Background

In January 2003, Vickey Berryman was named Director of Licensure and assumed administrative responsibility for the units of Bureau of Health Facilities, Division of Child Care Licensure, Division of Professional Licensure and the Criminal History Record Check Unit. Vickey is a 1984 graduate of Mississippi University for Women, School of Nursing. After years of clinical nursing, in 1990, Ms Berryman began employment as a nurse surveyor for the State Department of Health, Bureau of Licensure and Certifcation, and was later promoted to the State Training Coordinator/MDS/OASIS Coordinator for the Bureau. She transfered and served at the Mississippi Board of Nursing as the Nurse Practice Consultant and Director of Licensure from 2000-2002 prior to returning to the role of Director of Licensure for the Department of Health.
