Background
Dr. Mosca is the MSDH State Dental Director and Clinical Professor of Dentistry at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). He received his dental degree from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1987 and completed a General Practice Residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. In 1989, he developed and directed a hospital-based dental program for University Hospitals and Clinics at UMMC which was recognized for patient service and training in special care dentistry. He has published and lectured extensively on the dental care of persons with systemic diseases and received an Outstanding Service Award for excellence in treating those infected with HIV.
Dr. Mosca is currently a member of the executive committee for the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors and is a consultant for the Commission on Dental Education. He received the President's Award from the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors in 2004 and in 2006.
